
State Museum Foundation Names New Board Leadership and Welcomes Board Members
New leadership brings fresh vision to support the museum’s mission and growth.
The South Carolina State Museum Foundation has announced new board leadership and the election of three new members to its board of directors. The newly elected members bring a wide range of experience from across the state, representing industries such as media, finance, broadcasting and business.
Geoffrey Hardee, who has served the South Carolina State Museum Foundation Board for 8 years, most recently as chairman-elect, has been elected chairman of the Board. Hardee is a seasoned media, fundraising and public relations professional, with a passion for preservation and history. He is president of Kinardee Media Consulting.
In addition to naming Rita Bragg Caughman as immediate past board chair, the State Museum Foundation also announced the following executive leadership appointments:
- Blake Montgomery, chair-elect
- Margaret Wallace, treasurer
- Philip Simoneaux, secretary
The State Museum Foundation is also proud to welcome new board members Jane Robelot and Jack B. Hoey.
About Geoffrey Hardee
Geoffrey Hardee is a seasoned media, fundraising and public relations professional, with a passion for preservation and history. He is president of Kinardee Media Consulting. Hardee began his media career at age 16, working as a producer, editor and on-air talent for a local TV and radio station group in his native state of North Carolina. Hardee attended Wingate University, majoring in communications, and holds a B.S. in history from Chowan University, in Murfreesboro, NC. He lives on Lake Murray, in Chapin, with his wife, Meg, and three children – Alex, Hannah and Adair.

About Blake Montgomery
Blake Montgomery, formerly the investments committee chair for the South Carolina State Museum Foundation, is the CEO of Performance Matters. Prior to that, he worked in commercial banking for ten years, helping independent and family-owned businesses. Montgomery earned his MBA from the Darla Moore School of Business at the University of South Carolina, as well as an undergraduate degree in political science, He and his wife, Anna, have four children, Louise, Anne Fulton, Jay and Betsy, and they live in Columbia.

About Margaret Wallace
Margaret Wallace retains her role as the treasurer for the South Carolina State Museum Foundation. She’s a retired media professional, most recently serving as executive director of the South Carolina Broadcasters Association. Her broadcasting career began in radio sales and spanned markets including Georgetown, Greenville, Columbia and Charlotte. She later helped launch two country radio stations in Columbia. Wallace also worked in development roles at EdVenture Children’s Museum and the South Carolina State Museum Foundation and served as a senior account executive at WACH FOX TV. She holds a B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

About Philip Simoneaux
Philip Simoneaux, formerly the audit committee chair for the South Carolina State Museum Foundation, is the director of planning for Family Office Services at Southeastern Freight Lines. With nearly 20 years in accounting and finance, he specializes in financial and tax advisory services for closely held businesses and high-net-worth families. A CPA and CFP®, Philip is a University of South Carolina graduate and lives in Columbia with his wife, Ashley, and their two children.

About Jane Robelot
Based in Greenville, Jane Robelot is a nationally recognized broadcast journalist and co-anchor for WYFF News 4’s 4 p.m. newscast. She also hosts the station’s quarterly prime-time special, Chronicle. Robelot previously worked with CBS News in New York, where she co-hosted CBS This Morning, following earlier roles at WSPA in South Carolina and WCAU-TV in Philadelphia.

About Jack B. Hoey
Jack B. Hoey of Charleston brings significant experience in finance, operations and strategic planning. He has held leadership roles in both global corporations and startup ventures and is known for building high-performing teams and driving organizational success.
